Simulations of AGN-driven Galactic Outflow Morphology and Content

چکیده
Abstract Using a series of 3D relativistic hydrodynamical simulations active galactic nuclei (AGN) we investigate how AGN power, clumpy interstellar medium (ISM) structure, and jet angle with respect to the disk affect morphology content resulting outflow. For low-power across three orders magnitude luminosities (10 41 –10 43 erg s −1 ) our did not show significant changes either or total mass Changing galaxy small in outflow factor 2–3. Jets perpendicular created hot single-phase outflows, while jets close parallel multiphase outflows equal parts warm hot, cold gas. Overall final depends primarily on impacts interacts large, dense clouds ISM. These can disrupt, deflect, split, suppress jet, preventing it from leaving as coherent structure. But for > 10 44 ISM played minor role determining an undisrupted disk. The is different AGNs versus high-power dependent structure within first kiloparsec surrounding AGN.

5063 : AGN driven outflow of warm and cold gas ⋆
We present new ATCA 17and 24-GHz radio images and ESO-NTT optical spectra of the radioloud Seyfert galaxy IC 5063, the first galaxy in which a fast (∼ 600 km s) outflow of neutral hydrogen was discovered. The new radio data confirm the triple radio structure with a central, unresolved flat-spectrum core and two resolved radio lobes with steep spectral index. This implies that the previously det...
متن کاملOutflow Driven Cavities: Numerical Simulations of Intermediaries of Protostellar Turbulence
We investigate the evolution of fossil cavities produced by extinct YSO jets and wide angle outflows. Fossil cavities are ellipsoidal or cylindrical shells of swept-up of ambient (molecular cloud) material moving at low velocities. The cavities form when the momentum in a YSO jet or wide angle outflow decays in time allowing the bowshock or swept-up shell to decelerate to velocities near the tu...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Simulations of a Starburst-Driven Galactic Wind
We have performed a series of three-dimensional simulations of a starburstdriven wind in an inhomogeneous interstellar medium. The introduction of an inhomogeneous disk leads to differences in the formation of a wind, most noticeably the absence of the “blow-out” effect seen in homogeneous models. A wind forms from a series of small bubbles that propagate into the tenuous gas between dense clou...
متن کاملDirect simulations of a supernova-driven galactic dynamo
Context. Supernovae are known to be the dominant energy source for driving turbulence in the interstellar medium. Yet their effect on magnetic field amplification in spiral galaxies is still poorly understood. Analytical models based on the evolution of isolated, non-interacting supernova remnants predicted a dominant vertical pumping rendering dynamo action improbable. Aims. In the present wor...

In order to further test our hypothesis that jets and disk around compact accreting objects are symbi-otic features we investigate the newly discovered superlu-minal galactic radio jets GRS 1915+105 and GRO J1655-40 and other galactic radio jets like 1E1740-2942, GRS 1758-258 and SS 433 within the framework of our coupled jet/disk model developed initially for active galactic nuclei (AGN) and t...
